After death, anyone can enter Asgard and drink with Odin himself. But first, you must prove your worth to Thor and convince him that you deserve to enter the sacred city!
The Legendary Warrior and Traveler
Everyone knew Vulmar as a brave warrior. He traveled far and wide, accomplishing dozens of heroic feats.
Scribes grew exhausted carving tales of his adventures into stone! Some of them probably wished Vulmar would settle down and live a peaceful life—but he never even considered stopping.
Slayer of Beasts
One day, the legendary warrior defeated a giant bear, a beast so powerful it could slay four or even five Vikings with a single swipe of its paw. This terrifying creature had terrorized the nearby villages for years! Even the bravest warriors dared not face it, and the bear had practically become a king, ready to seize a throne and rule.
But fortunately, Vulmar slew the cursed monster. The battle was grueling, but in the end, he triumphed, striking down the beast with his sharp blade.
Later, Vulmar encountered an ice hydra, a creature whose breath could freeze anything in its path. The multi-headed beast could summon storms, turning people and animals into lifeless statues of ice.
Wielding a massive axe, specially forged for him by a master blacksmith, Vulmar cut down the ice hydra. As it fell, the monstrous creature transformed into a colossal block of ice.
The Fateful Storm
Throughout his journeys, Vulmar fought trolls, undead warriors, giant serpents, necromancers, and all manner of foes threatening mankind. It was hard to say whether he was more of a fearless traveler or an unstoppable warrior.
One day, while sailing his drakkar in search of new adventures, an unrelenting storm struck. It was as if Odin himself had grown furious with mankind and decided to punish them.
Welcome to Helheim…
Vulmar’s ship was caught in the storm and smashed against the reefs. The drakkar was reduced to wreckage, and the Vikings were scattered by the raging sea.
Of course, none survived—the storm left them no chance. Vulmar drowned, but not in battle. When he awoke, he found himself in Helheim, the underworld where ordinary mortals are sent.
The Journey to a Warrior’s Paradise
Determined to set things right, Vulmar sought out Hel, the goddess of the underworld. He was a true warrior, and he deserved to enter Asgard, but for some reason, the Valkyries had not come to claim him. Then again, he hadn’t fallen in battle, so Odin’s winged warriors saw no reason to intervene.
Vulmar demanded to be sent to Asgard, explaining to Hel that he deserved to feast among the gods, not waste eternity in the dull realm of the dead. Listening to his plea, Hel opened a path leading out of Helheim. But before Vulmar could leave, she warned him that he would have to face Thor…
Thor’s Lightning – A Game for True Vikings
The Son of Odin wished to test the strength of a warrior who had not died in battle. Thor challenged Vulmar, demanding that he prove himself in a trial of strength before earning his place in Valhalla.
However, Asgard’s greatest warrior had no interest in a physical duel—everyone already knew who would win. Instead, Thor proposed a different kind of contest. If Vulmar could win, he would be welcomed at the gods’ feast!
But this game was no simple task. Vulmar will need your help. If you succeed, he will personally reward you with gold from the halls of Valhalla!
